Bett in a nutshell – edtech trends for 2025
Written by Mantis PRLast week, Bett, the world’s biggest edtech event, welcomed more than 35,000 members of the global education community, to share ideas and showcase the latest tech innovations that will drive impact and improve outcomes for teachers and learners across the world.
Bett 2025 was not just about exhibitors; it offered a plethora of interactive experiences, like the Big Bett Assembly – an interactive format inviting students and teachers to explore the evolution of gaming technology and career pathways, highlighting the educational potential of gaming.
Government education agenda
Keynotes were a particular highlight with Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson kicking off the official opening outlining her plans to modernise education through the power of technology.
She discussed how initiatives such as Plan technology for your school and Connect the classroom aim to modernise education infrastructure.
The Education Secretary went on to underscore the enduring importance of the teacher-student relationship, acknowledging the critical role of technology in supporting this bond and improving outcomes, especially for children with special educational needs. Read her full speech here.
AI takes centre stage
Artificial intelligence unsurprisingly emerged as a dominant theme at Bett 2025, with numerous exhibitors presenting AI-powered tools aimed at revolutionising education. Notable innovations included: Beyond AI, the role interactive displays will play in enhancing collaboration and engagements, as well as new products aimed at enhancing STEAM education, providing educators with tools to foster creativity and critical thinking among students.
A highlight from day one, was the keynote address by renowned actor and writer Stephen Fry. In a conversation with Anne-Marie Imafidon. Fry delved into “The Human Approach to AI,” discussing the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on education and the importance of maintaining a human touch in an increasingly digital world.
Future Skills Unlocked explored AI’s transformative impact on industries, challenging traditional approaches to work and education. Attendees gained actionable insights from IBM to navigate AI’s future in education.
After hosting one of the most sought after sessions of 2023 and 2024, Dan Fitzpatrick, the AI Educator (and our recent podcast contributor) returned to the arena. As author of the acclaimed books, The AI Classroom and the best-selling new release, Infinite Education, he explored the insights and strategies for harnessing AI in education.
